Looking ahead to Unit 3.

Moving from thinking about the physical environment (UD) to considering the instructional environment (UDI)

. UD provides principles for improving access to the built environment.

. The instructional environment can be designed to improve access to learning for a broader range of students.

. UDI is an emerging construct that seeks to define principles for designing instruction that is more inclusive.
