College faculty are extremely busy people. Juggling responsibilities for teaching, research, and service leaves little time for activities that don't contribute in some way to these institutional and professional roles. So why should you submit an instructional product for possible publication on the Facultyware web site?
What's in it for me?
- The opportunity for a peer reviewed online publication pertaining to inclusive instruction. (See http://www.facultyware.uconn.edu/files/Juried_Process_Fact_Sheet.pdf for more information on the peer review process used in selecting products for publication.)
- Confirmation of your online published product from the federally funded Universal Design for Instruction (UDI) Project at the University of Connecticut that can be used in annual reports and tenure review files .
- An opportunity to participate in the national dialogue about inclusive approaches to teaching by sharing your own ideas and strategies with colleagues across the country and including your professsional contact information if you wish to discuss your individual strategy with interested colleagues.
- A forum for getting feedback on your instructional product including affirmation of the inclusive features of your strategy and suggestions for enhancing your instructional product.
- The opportunity to contribute to this growing repository of instructional freeware that is focused on supporting faculty at two- and four-year colleges across the country in addressing the needs of increasingly diverse student populations.
